Cathedral oiled oak (Vancouver)

Cathedral oiled Oak (Vancouver) is a lightish grey, slightly limed Oak floor. The finish is achieved using a line brushing machine to remove the soft pithy grain. A chemical reactive treatment is used before applying a grey colour oil. The floor is then buffed to remove the surface finish leaving grey in the grain and then two coats of clear finishing oil applied This finish will change colour over time due to the effects of natural ultraviolet light. You will get light and dark tones within individual boards and from one board to another. Over time as the boards mellow down this becomes less apparent. This is a light toned floor. Regular cleaning using soap-wash and the use of a clear maintenance oil when required should keep this floor looking good for years to come.
